The boys and I enjoyed a lovely day out at Sian's house in Te Kuiti. It was a bit of a twisty journey where I managed to suffer travel sickness even whilst driving but was well worth it when we got there. Unfortunately we did have another traffic jam (NZ style).

Well Sal these beaches are on the West coast and it is black as the sand is volcanic. The other beaches we go to are on the eastern side and are lovely and golden. The boys love the black sand as it makes a real mess when you roll in it but boy is it hot to walk on! The sand flies also seem to prefer the black sand, we got munched on Tues.
