Gold Medallist's Visit
We were lucky enough to have the Ever-Swindell twins visit the school. They won gold this year at the olympics and train on Lake Karapiro down the road. I had a good chat to them and they told me how much they enjoyed rowing in Worcester a few years ago. They did autographs and a question/answer session. They even played tag with the kids and the local P.C joined in too.

Alfresco
Well today really feels like Summer has begun. 25 degrees, at last. The flies are already being a pain in the proverbial and we have booked for Flybusters to come at 8am tomorrow morning. Apparently they spray in and out and it really helps keep the flies at bay all Summer. We ate outside tonight and hopefully the BBQ will be fired up at the weekend.
Auckland and Rangitoto
On Saturday we had a great day out. We went to Auckland and caught a boat across the harbour to an Island called Rangitoto. Part of the island is only 600 years old and was created by a large volcanic eruption. We hadn't been there long when Joe was nearly sucked into a mud pool. The mud was thick and black and he was told to promptly go and wash it off in the sea (or words to that effect). Didn't think we would need a change of clothes at 11 years old!
