Hi All. Well we have had alot of rain lately but today we enjoyed fantastic blue skies so we decided to head off to Maungatautari Reserve. It is a fenced area to keep out predators in the hope that indigenious species of birds and mammals thrive and increase. It is a wonderful place but I think we need to go at nightfall to spot Kiwi as they only forage for 4 hours per day, they sleep the rest of the time, my kind of bird!
